In Memory of Jim Martin
Is Life a Boon? If so,
it must befall that Death,
whene'er He call,
must call too soon.
- W.S. Gilbert, The Yeomen of the Guard
James Thomas Martin, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 18, 2013 at his mother's home after a short illness. Born in Redwood City, precious son of Sharon Martin of Santa Clara and of Thomas and Idamarie Martin of Hermiston, Oregon; dear brother to Cherie Martin and Annmarie Martin, both of San Jose, and jolly uncle of Jack Symons. Jim is also survived by his former wife Jennifer Medeiros of Santa Clara and her family; by his childhood friend Scott Arteburn of Portola CA; by many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and by a host of other boon companions and friends. Jim was a lifelong singer who performed many memorable roles with Lyric Theatre of San José, The Great Dickens Christmas Fair Coventry Carolers, Stanford Savoyards, Sunnyvale Players, and other area musical groups, and his booming baritone, larger-than-life person, wicked humor, and kind heart will be profoundly missed by many.
Donations in Jim's name to the non-profit Lyric Theatre of San José will be greatly appreciated. Please click the Donations Button and find the instructions on our Donations page for how to proceed.
