The Gondoliers
Libretto - W.S. Gilbert Music - Arthur Sullivan
October 13–28, 2018
Venetian gondoliers and strident egalitarians Marco and Giuseppe Palmieri wed local village girls Gianetta and Tessa. Unbeknownst to them, one of these two revolutionaries is not actually a Palmieri - an elaborate baby-swapping scheme means he is the king of Barataria. Further complications arise when the Grand Inquisitor of Spain informs them that the king - whichever it is - was married as an infant to Casilda, daughter of the (bankrupt) Duke and Duchess of Plaza-Toro.
