Lyric Theatre announces auditions for two upcoming shows!

The Judge Strikes Back:

The Next Great Gilbert and Sullivan Sing-Off

We seek a diverse cast that reflects the diversity of the Bay Area. Non-AEA, no pay.

 

In-person auditions for both productions at

Cupertino Middle School

1650 S. Bernardo Ave.

Sunnyvale, 94087

(in the band room at the building's south end facing the street)

Friday Feb. 20: 7-10 pm
Saturday Feb. 21:  11am-2pm
Sunday Feb. 22: 2pm-5pm

Hearings/callbacks for The Judge Strikes Back:

Sunday March 22, 6pm-9pm, location TBA.

If you would like to audition but are unavailable on these dates, you may submit a video of no longer than 2 minutes by 4:00 PM Sunday, February 22, to auditions@lyrictheatre.org,  Please include some movement within your video. Select the "Video Submission" time slot on the signup page, and fill in the rest of the form.

Walk-ins are welcome, but signups are strongly encouraged, which will allow you to fill out our audition form ahead of time. Walk-ins may need to wait for an open time slot.  When you fill out the form you will also need to acknowledge that you have read, understand and will abide by these documents:

Code of conduct
Health protocols
Liability waiver

Copies will be available at the auditions; see them ahead of time using the links in the right-hand panel on this page.

Bring a headshot, plus your theatrical resume and conflict calendar if not listed at signup.

​

Music:  Prepare a verse or excerpt (1-2 minutes) of a song in the style of Gilbert & Sullivan or Victor Herbert, memorized.  Bring sheet music for the accompanist in your key. An accompanist will be provided; unaccompanied auditions and recorded music are not allowed.

Readings:  For those seeking larger speaking roles in The Judge Strikes Back, cold readings will be provided.

Masking when not actively auditioning is optional but strongly encouraged.
